The CILIPS Research Fund offers a unique opportunity to support research that contributes to Library and Information Sector advocacy in Scotland. The Fund makes available up to £10,000 per year in funding for researchers, practitioners, activists, students and other interested professionals whose work seeks to advance library advocacy. Click here to go to the Research Fund page.

We’re thrilled to say that the fund has been reopened for 2024-2025, with new applications welcome until the 31st of October 2024. The fund has no specific theme this year but the webpage suggests some areas of interest which would benefit from further research including; Budgets and Funding, The impact of school libraries, AI and Libraries or Library Led Environmental Sustainability. If you’d like any support or guidance about applying for the fund, please reach out to the CILIPS team at admin@cilips.org.uk.

Previous recipients of the fund have been incredibly successful in creating projects with a measurably positive impact on the scottish library landscape, including REVEAL: Reinforcing Ethics and Values for Effective Advocacy for Libraries, Libraries as Agents of Sustainability Thinking in Scotland (LASTS),  A beacon of hope: visioning libraries for the future and Carbon Literacy for Libraries Shareable Course.
