Text below reading, "it's november 1868. The new purpose-built sheriff's courthouse has recently opened in the town centre of Auchterdon. Everything is going well in the new courthouse: even the recently ill sheriff Andrew Park has felt able to return to work. But disaster has struck! Sheriff Park has collapsed and died here in the courtroom. Make a note of the letters you see circled in red on each clue, and the answer to the mystery of the death will be revealed.
