Kerry Hudson – Why Libraries Matter
Category: News
From 6.30-7.30pm on Thursday 20th July, Head of CILIP Scotland Sean McNamara will be in conversation with author, journalist and CILIP Scotland Honorary Member Kerry Hudson at Glasgow’s Mitchell Library for a timely discussion on why libraries matter more than ever.
Free access to libraries changes lives. More than “just buildings”, local libraries provide a welcoming multipurpose and multigenerational safe place to learn, connect, enjoy, discover, and unwind.
Offering everything from activities to advice, learning to leisure, resources to relaxation, Libraries have a crucial role to play in mitigating the impact of unprecedented complex social, economic and wellbeing challenges experienced by communities’ post pandemic.
In conversation with Sean, Kerry will advocate the social benefits of public libraries and share the positive impact they have had in her own life.
