Generative Artificial Intelligence Skills in Schools (GenAISiS) – Research Assistant vacancies x 2
Generative Artificial Intelligence Skills in Schools (GenAISiS) is a project funded by the Responsible Ai UK programme (RAi UK) and a partnership between CILIPS, Robert Gordon University, and school librarians across Scotland.
GenAISiS aims to empirically explore with secondary school students the responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence and co-create open educational resources, articulating the student voice via fictitious cartoon stories and characters. As part of GenAISiS, we will also create open educational resources on generative artificial intelligence for children aged 9-13 years old.
We are looking to recruit two Research Assistants for the project to conduct analysis of qualitative data from schools and to design and produce an open educational toolkit on Generative Artificial Intelligence aimed at educators. The educational toolkit will complement a new series of cartoon stories, as part of the ongoing cartoon-based education series, ‘Maddie is Online,’ that includes lesson plans, learning activities and curated external resources (see the Maddie is Online Bookshelf for more).
Indicative themes include the use of GenAI tools, transparency/trust, information literacy (e.g., information evaluation, critical thinking, academic integrity/honesty, purpose), bias/inclusion/discrimination, privacy/data safety and security.
