Libraries and library staff play an essential role in supporting a love of reading among children, so to learn more, join us on the 22nd of November from 11am-12pm. This webinar will provide the latest research insights into principles and practices to increase children’s enjoyment and engagement with books. It will also provide details of the Love to Read Libraries guide and resources, co-created with CILIPS, Scottish Book Trust + library professionals. The webinar will be lead by Professor Sarah McGeown, Director of the Literacy Lab at the University of Edinburgh, and the lead researcher on the Love to Read Libraries project. She is internationally recognised for her research into children’s reading motivation and engagement, and the importance of reading and books in children and young people’s lives.
