CILIPS welcomes new President and Vice-President
Category: News
CILIP in Scotland held their first Trustee Board meeting of the year in the Edinburgh Central Library on Thursday 19th January. As well as discussing business such as the Annual Delivery Plan and our Libraries Matter campaign we were delighted to induct our new President Liz McGettigan. We look forward to working with Liz throughout the year and planning has already begun for our 2017 Annual Conference, hosted by our President and with the theme ‘Strategies for Success’.
The meeting also gave thanks to Theresa Breslin for her excellent work as President in 2016. This included hosting the Annual Conference, attending Meet the President events in partnership with our Branches, representing CILIPS at CILIP Conferences in England, Ireland and Wales and being a vocal campaigner for libraries. Theresa now takes on the role of Immediate Past President.
We were also pleased to welcome our new Vice-President Margaret Menzies, Library & Information Services Manager at Live Borders, who will take on the role of President in 2018.
