CILIP125: Scotland’s next generation of leaders
As celebrations continue for the 125th anniversary of the granting of CILIP’s Royal Charter, we are delighted to announce the names of the Scotland-based professionals on the prestigious CILIP 125 list, helping to lead our sector into a new age of information.

Congratulating the CILIP125 list, Head of CILIPS Sean McNamara said:
‘We are delighted to see so many CILIP Scotland members on the list. We have a wealth of talented professionals coming through who will define the library sector for many years, as exemplified so often by the work of our Students & New Professionals Community. Well done to all recipients.’
CILIP CEO Nick Poole said:
‘As we face more change and opportunity in the coming years, navigating a rapidly evolving digital landscape, with the added challenges of censorship and disinformation, and an increasingly urgent need to live and work in more sustainable ways, these 125 new professionals will be leading the way.
This is a set of passionate individuals, contributing energy, knowledge and impact to the institutions, organisations and communities they serve.
Over 125 years our members have seen advances in science and technology and played our part in research and development. We’ve experienced societal change and are working hard to combat a rise in disinformation.
We’ve lived through challenged economies, weathered a decline in funding whilst simultaneously fighting for social justice, offered spaces of sanctuary, warmth and safety to those who are displaced, challenged by costs of living or seeking support and access to vital information in a neutral environment.’
Minister for Culture, Europe and International Development, Christina McKelvie said:
“This is great news and it speaks volume to the ethos and hard work of the library professionals based in Scotland, who have continually demonstrated tremendous strength and resilience in particularly challenging times.”

Congratulations to Scotland’s CILIP125 professionals from all at CILIPS!
