‘During the first lockdown, Moray Libraries took their weekly IT Help Hub online. Ordinarily, the Hub meets every Wednesday morning for older people to come along for support in using their own digital devices and learning new skills, but this very quickly developed into a social occasion with coffee and cakes!
At first, the attendees were a little overwhelmed by having to get to grips with Video Conferencing software and downloading it on to their own devices. However, with the help of the wonderful staff and IT Help Hub volunteer this was achieved, and as you can hear it has become the highlight of their week. Listen to the three ladies brave enough to allow us to film them and post to our Moray Libraries Facebook page. Due to the success of the group, it is our intention to open this up further and build on the success. We believe it shows the importance of staying connected and the impact it has on our library community, demonstrating how #LibrariesAreEssential online and in-person.’
