Scottish employers wanted to take part in diversity and inclusion survey

Young Women Lead (YWL) is a leadership programme for young women under the age of 30 living in Scotland. It gives participants the opportunity to become more involved in politics by, for example, creating model Committee sessions and undertaking research. Those involved in the programme gain confidence and skills in giving written and oral evidence to a Scottish Parliament Committee on issues affecting their lives thereby increasing the visibility and participation of young women in parliamentary business.
YWL is currently leading an inquiry into the experiences of young Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women who are transitioning from education to employment in Scotland. This research is in partnership with the Scottish Parliament. Specifically, YWL are interested in what measures are being taken to increase employment opportunities for women from ethnic backgrounds including with regards to recruitment, retention and development of policies and best practice.
To help with this research, YWL is inviting employers in Scotland to take part in a survey that covers questions such as what diversity and inclusion means to your organisation, how you source young BAME candidates, and what support you feel would help in creating a diverse workforce. You can find the survey here.
Additionally, BAME women aged 16-30 who are currently in employment are encouraged to fill out this survey about their experiences. There are also two surveys on education: one for teachers and another for young BAME women with lived experience of education in Scotland.
This is an important piece of research and we would encourage anybody who is able to participate.
