Open letters sent regarding library proposals in East Dunbartonshire and the Western Isles

CILIP in Scotland have written open letters to the Council Leaders in both East Dunbartonshire and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar to raise concerns and ask questions about proposals relating to libraries in their respective authorities.

Recent media reports suggested East Dunbartonshire Council were considering closing 3 libraries. Read our open letter to the Council Leaders.

In Comhairle nan Eilean Siar a series of ‘community conversations‘ are ongoing throughout November and these include proposals to for a Community Hub model, placing library provision in schools and reducing the mobile library service. Read our open letter to the Council Leader.
