Call for new CILIPS Board Members in 2025

CILIPS is inviting nominations from members for the following positions:

Trustees 

CILIPS seeks nominations for 1 place on the Trustee Board to serve from 1st January 2025 – 31st December 2027. The Trustee Board meets approximately 4 times a year and determines CILIPS strategy and policy, as well as benchmarking progress against the annually agreed business plan.

Occasionally additional meetings may be needed and there are optional sub-groups that Trustees can be part of too, such as Finance & Staffing and Equalities, Diversity & Inclusion working groups.

Prospective candidates must be members of CILIPS and willing to commit to Trustee duties as prescribed by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). All Trustees are offered training for their role.

We welcome applications from people at all stages of their career who believe they can meet the role description below. We also strongly welcome applications from anyone who considers themselves to have a protected characteristic as defined by the Equality Act 2010. We are fully committed to increasing diversity within our Governance structures and the CILIPS Trustee Board recently approved our strengthened Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Commitment.

Vice-President (and 2026 President)

CILIPS seeks nominations for the position of Vice-President to serve from 1st January 2025. Candidates serve for two years firstly as Vice President and then President in Year Two, with an optional third year as immediate Past-President. The Vice-President is an ex-officio member of the Board and does not serve as a Trustee.

We welcome applications from people at all stages of their career who believe they can meet the role description below. We also strongly welcome applications from anyone who considers themselves to have a protected characteristic as defined by the Equality Act 2010. All Board members adhere to a Code of Conduct grounded in the CILIP Ethical Framework and commit to upholding these principles on behalf of our membership community.

If any/all positions are over-subscribed then an election will be held online, using the 100 word statements and voted for by CILIP members in Scotland.
